I have always enjoyed being around children - from my childhood to my life today. Reading to children, seeing their enthusiasm and feeling their excitement fills me with such joy, this must be what I was intended to do when I grew up.
Recess because this was the time that I became friends with people who are still my friends today.
I love to read, take long walks, watch movies, be with friends, laugh till I cry.
Whatever you decide to do, remember to keep your eyes and ears open for what lies ahead - around the corner - over the next hill - be open for change and be ready to take a risk and explore new areas that will broaden your world but, most of all, do what you love to do and do it well.

Children's Book Author
In Junior High I decided that I wanted to be a lawyer.
I would have to say either English or some type of psychology class, and of course computer classes and speech.
I like to hang out with my little boy, my puppies and my husband. I enjoy listening to music and reading, as well as watching movies.
Make sure that you research how much schooling will be required, how much it will cost and what the opportunities are when you get out of school. Is it in a field that is growing? Plus it is a really good idea to intern or take some practical application classes in your chosen field to see if you even like the type of work that you will be doing.
Id like to say that I like sweeping epics or biographies of famous people, but I really just love funny books like those by Laurie Notaro and Jen Lancaster. They are laugh-out-loud funny books about the everyday things that occur to women. I also love the Twilight Series and of course that old standard Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Trust your body. Trust yourself.
I'm the founder of Intentional Birth- a program created to assist women to uncover and trust their intuition as they enter pregnancy and parenthood. I also work locally as a doula and host a weekly radio program for moms (A Labor of Love on the VoiceAmerica Network.)
I spent a lot of time changing my mind about career goals with ideas as diverse as lawyer, radiologist, teacher, singer, and painter, but as I entered college, I was sure my work would eventually have something to do with fine arts.
The classes that focused specifically on writing help me to communicate more clearly. I also believe that music and fine arts instruction helped me to think outside the box and be willing to take risks with limited fear of criticism. After sitting through multiple art class critiques, I understand most people either desire to help me improve or they don't understand.
I spend most of my free time just enjoying life as a wife and homeschooling mom of two young girls. I love to read, make crafts, crochet, and run marathons.
It took me a long time to realize that my heart really did lead the way to the best place for me. Stop worrying about the way others define success and follow your own dream. If you can imagine it, you can do it. A healthy obsession makes a great career.
I LOVE Barbara Kingsolver novels. I'm always reading several books simultaneously. Right now I'm reading A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn, Field Notes on Democracy (Arundhati Roy), We Need to Talk About Kevin (Lionel Shriver), Conversations with God Book Three (Neale Donald Walsh), and Put Your Life on a Diet (Gregory Johnson). I just finished The Shack (William P. Young) and expect it will be one I have to read several times.
My favorite books as a girl were by Judy Blume (I still <3 the memories) and the Sweet Valley High series.
